PERMALITE® Direct Dyes for Rayon

These dyes offer good value and economy and provide standard light fastness and wet fastness on both cotton and rayon substrates.

PERMALITE direct dyes are suitable for resin finishes and aftertreatments which can further enhance their wet fastness properties.

Atmospheric Dyeing System

Prepare, rinse, and neutralize goods as required

1. Set dyebath at 100°F (38°C)
   add 0.5% wetting agent
   0.5% sequestering agent (if needed)
   (pH must be adjusted to 8.5-9.5 with soda ash when using Direct Black 22)
   (pH can range from 6.0-7.0 with other color combinations)
2. Circulate 10 minutes. Add PERMALITE Direct Dyes (predissolved at 200°F)
3. Circulate 10 minutes and heat 2-3°F/minutes to 212°F
4. Run 15 minutes
   add 1-40 g/l of salt (based on depth of shade)
   add 1/10 of total salt - circulate 10 minutes
   add 3/10 of total salt - circulate 10 minutes
   add 6/10 of total salt - circulate 30 minutes
5. Cool to 160°F
6. Sample – if shade is acceptable, drain machine
7. Refill with cold water at 90°F
8. Circulate 10 minutes and then drain
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for darker shades
10. Refill with cold water at 90°F
    add 5.0 g/l salt
11. Circulate 10 minutes and drain
12. Refill with cold water at 90°F
13. Circulate 10 minutes and unload
